Nishantha Jayalath

Nishantha joined CIDC at the inception of the Resource Centre and has since made significant progress in building a strong foundation in Asset Management—a sector that was initially new to him. Over the years, he has consistently embraced the challenges of leading large-scale audit engagements, particularly in his role as a Senior Manager working an Asset Management portfolio. His experience includes managing Cayman Islands-based funds and working closely with several Cayman partners, as well as collaborating with other Big 4 overseas offices and partners. These engagements have significantly enhanced his international exposure and technical expertise in Asset Management.

Nishantha is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA) and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kelaniya. Prior to joining CIDC, he spent over 11 years at a Big 4 firm in Sri Lanka, progressing through various roles and ultimately serving as Senior Manager – Audit. His intensive experience in corporate auditing and commercial finance makes him the most practically qualified and industry-connected lecturer in the country.
